Hello all,
This wood is fom a comb handle, about 10cm long, it's hard (can't dent it with a fingernail), light-medium brown with green herringbone stripes.
My guess it's a lignum vitae substitute, namely Bulnesia sarmienti. I don't what's the common name for it in the UK but I've read Palo Santo wood, Argentine lignum vitae, Paraguay lignum vitae and verawood are other names for it.
