I hate to break into the silly question monopoly but perhaps someone has a simple answer for me.
I recently had to renew windows 7 on my laptop and now when I restart the computer I have to log-in. It isn't a great hardship but I am sure there is a way to bypass this requirement. any info would be gratefully received
Thanks. Alan

Try:

Win+r "control userpasswords2"

Uncheck the checkbox.

You may also want go into power management profile,

click advanced options of your current power profile.

check any that involve returning from hibernation or sleep to NOT require password to avoid log in request.

Can't we talk you into spending a bit more on heating in your workshop John, it might do your computer a power of good.
