Quality components, use of cast iron for the tables, heavy gauge steel framework. I would say the ossilation gives you better use of the belt, rather than using packers to raise any item from the table to use more of the belt.

While you could probably make one yourself for less cost material wise, you would need to add in the cost of your time for design, sourcing materials, making it. Plus any commercially purchased machine will have VAT etc added, yours would not if it was a one off.

They are probably actually making it for about half that.

Less Vat. Axy's mark up. Shipping etc.

Slightly tongue in cheek - I think we should be amazed at how cheap this and other machines are given the complexity of manufacture from start to end - mining, processing, machining, assembly, packaging, transport etc. There are a lot of vegetables that cost more per kilo and involve - plant, wait, pick, eat.

We also end up with a device which should give several years or even decades of service, vegetables are single use and we then want more after a few hours!

Best regards

Terry

Veg is more complex than that.

Fertiliser, seed, irrigation, land costs and specialised machinery cost a fortune.
