Hi all,

I've got to the point where a trip the the car and back is more than a couple of trips.

i know Makita makes their own trolley however at around £100 its quite pricey.

What do people on here use to wheel their gear about? I'm tempted to get one of the cheap folding trolleys off of amazon/ebay but not sure if they are really up to it, or whether they would work well and save some hard earned cash

cheers

Tom

I have been fortunate that on most jobs I can park the van on site. But on one job that required many visits over a year I had to park about 500 metres away. I used a collapsable trolly with reasonable sized wheels and it could cope with kerbs and uneven flags quite well. Not used with systainers but I have most stuff in three large plastic boxes which I held on with bungies.

I have this problem too with my work kit. So far I've been using a little folding trolley that feels like its going to break at any time. If you look closely at the makita one the boxes don't actually clip to it, which I would expect for the outrageous asking price. I think I may get one of the 80kg rated ones and modify it so the boxes lock in properly.

Get a sack barrow with inflatable wheels, its amazing how much difference inflatable wheels make over the solid ones on offer in the likes of B&Q, just make sure the sack barrow has a large ledge at the bottom some skimp on width, Oh and ratchet straps to hold the boxes onto the barrow.

Im thinking of just getting a cheapo 80kg trolley and just seeing how long it lasts.

I would get something stronger, but space is at a premium when i only have a little corsa.

I've had a wolfcraft folding one for years, I use it for systainers , kitchen units, appliances etc. I did buy the festool sys roll recently though. It's very handy as the systainers lock on to it better than the wolfcraft one. I've also got one of the roll boards which is really handy. I stick it under tall larder units , wheel them into place then just pull it out.
