What kind of wood is this?

Hi

I found some old wood at my fathers place this christmas, does anybody know what kind of wood this is?

It could be a very well oxidised Padauk. Wenge is the other that springs to mind.
 
Could be leadwood/mgurure if you're lucky otherwise my vote's for very old purpleheart.
The density would be the key - leadwood's harder and heavy ~1200 kg/m^3.

Still think it looks like padauk.
