This was my first dealings with Warren Machine Tools and I found them to be very helpful & efficient with both enquiries & delivery. The day the machine was originally due for delivery I was called away from home on a Family emergency, telephoned them, they were very understanding and contacted the carrier. It appears it was to late to stop an attempted delivery for which no charge was made. rescheduled delivery, which arrived today.
I was not expecting much of the sheet metal stand but it was better than I expected and would be fine but I prefer a mobile base with storage, so thats the next job
Obviously the machine is a clone Axminster/Excel/NuTool etc not sure which came first, but priced at £198 incl delivery seemed good value. It was advertised as a 550watt motor but is actually 1hp
Well packaged with all items individually packed
Was easy to assemble with simple adjustments where needed.
The disc is supplied to take adhesive pads but I used Charnwood self adhesive Velcro pads. The maximum runout of the disc face is only .005 inch
The cast iron bed of the belt sander is topped with a bonded 2mm thick graphite impregnated material which allows the belt to glide over the surface
The only two slightly negative points are the thickness of the 2 brackets (marked X) that support a cover beneath the table, easy to remake
The disc guard material could have been thicker, but not a major issue.
Have only had limited testing time today but would not have liked to try to stop the disc. The belt only stopped with excessive downward pressure and the belt slipped on the drive roller not the drive itself.
Only time will tell but the initially all seems good
