i would be interested to see the book press- any chance of a picture.

Out of interest, where would you use your airpress as a first choice?

There you go!

The platten is about 16" x 20", I use a layer of carpet underfelt top and bottom, ply sheets, and plastic sheets to equalise the pressure and control any glue squeeze out. And I'll fit G Clamps around the perimeter to add more pressure.

I tend to use the vac bag for larger veneering (such as table tops) or very thick items that won't fit under the press platten.

Speaking of vacuum..

I´m thinking of changing the setup in the pics and buy a small frame vacuumpress (lower pic).
After reading custards post, I´m no longer shure it would actually be an improvment?
I´m laminating 3 layers of 0,8 mm veneer with epoxy. The moulds match up pretty good, but for other reasons i need to make new ones, and that is tedious to say the least.
I would much prefer just to make one and be done with it. I also thought that the vacuum would better take away
any "airpockets" within the laminate, but I could be wrong on this?

Any thoughts on this?

The press is supposed to give 90% vacuum.
