Sigh. Further googling (for "lee valley"|veritas "side rebate" | "side rabbet") reveals...

link

"design is just about done on the (single) side rabbet"

And it was hinted at "way back when":

http://www.woodworkingonline.com/2006/1 ... tas-up-to/

"And they’re working on their version of the side rabbet planes like the old Stanley 98/99."

'Course - you could go straight to the source... wassamatta - you lose your contacts???

2506ish plane (Different, but I'd like to think EP would approve...) and a new shave are next... as stated - the pair of skew rebates follow - I just can't confirm a date - design is virtually complete - and we're starting to issue tooling orders. Lot's of work in this pair - and some more neat features...

Cheers -

Rob

Hmmmm, I'm curious . . . .

Record's model was the 2506. Preston's was the 1369.

So, if it's a 2506 that Edward Preston would be proud of, I'm guessing it probably has 1369-ish blade adjusters???

This picture of a 2506 is on BugBear's site:

These images of a 1369 are from Joel's Toolsforworkingwood site:

Hi Philly -

Actually - have no renderings of it... just 3-D models... but will be working on some images.... it's kinda hard to show in just one shot...

Dave - my goof on the numbers - of course it's the Record 2506, copied from the Preston. Alas - no adjusters for us... the low bed angle makes the blades easy to set manually, so we went for a more affordable solution. This is a surprisingly difficult tool to make well - two mouths, low angles, and a mating nosepiece.... and all thin section work!

Cheers -
