I am trying to establish a workshop in my garage, and am buying tools to set this up. One of the systems I selected is the new Triton TWX7 ans associated Table Saw and Router inserts, using the logic that I can use one base for two or more functions.

I am testing the table saw facility, and am encountering significant problems with dust extraction. This facility is particularly important to me in a small workshop as otherwise my working space becomes rapidly bogged down in dust and chips. I have connected extraction both above and below the table, and run some test pieces through the saw. While the chips were largely dealt with, fine dust escaped from both above and under the table.

I realise that it may be early days yet, but does anyone have any experience with the dust extraction capabilities of these new tools?

I am using a Festool Midi (High pressure low volume) below and an Axminster Trade Series CT-50RCK Extractor (low pressure high volume) over blade guard. They are both restricted to about 35mm

Hi jcaswell,

I'm intrigued by your post as I'm considering heading down a very similar path myself. That being the Midi, Twx7 & Cs001. The Midi's a for sure now, for all the reasons I'm sure you already enjoy. But I'm still undecided on the saw front. So was wondering if you'd be able to share some of your impressions so far?

Having poured through much of the vid's & chat it appears that for the under £650 mark small footprint table saws fall loosely into two camps; Site and Hobby-Cabinet. (Obviously if space is not an issue there are always the big old cast beauties on eBay to choose through! But as is it...)

And if it's any consolation neither of these two arenas seems to have their dust extraction sealed up so to speak. With the Site's, Dewalt, Makita etc. focusing more on their rugged portability and the Hobby-Cabinet's still polishing up their accuracy and full features for this money.

However, one of the area's the new Triton looks exciting aside from its swap out modular concept is its potential accuracy as a saw? Given thats it looks as portable as any good Site saw. Features like a good fence? Plus the double T-track opening out options for saw sleighs too.

Any light you could share would be great fully received as there's hardly a shred of anything written about it yet :)
