Just in case anyone is thinking of ordering this router from Toolstation, the current stock does not have the handle and isn't made to take the above table handle...I ordered one Monday night, it turned up half hour ago, it's going back tomorrow!

Pete,

That must be very old stock that they're trying to clear. As I've already mentioned, mine is the very latest model and comes with the handle. If it's any use to you mine was purchased from the Poole, Dorset branch of Toolstation. It's worth asking them to clarify if they have any of the latest models available.
If the router table that you plan to use has easy access underneath then you might not even miss the above table adjustment. My table is on top of a black and decker workmate and although I primarily bought the router because of the above table adjustment, I find it just as quick to change height from underneath the table. I'm crouched down anyway to check the bit height and to lock the plunge lock, so it's actually just as quick to adjust the height whilst I'm there. Although saying that, I would still try and get the latest model if you can.

Hello JJ...I was gutted when it came today mate and then really ......off about it! I called Toolstation last week and the advisor on the phone didn't know and couldn't give any info. I phoned them again on Saturday hoping someone else might know. A different guy said none of my local branches, Manchester, Rochdale or Warrington would be getting any in, but he was good enough to give the number of the company that supplied Toolstation. I called them and they confirmed the stock they sent to Toolstation was the lastest model with the above table handle, after you were good enough to confirm it as well, I placed the order.
I asked someone at Toolstation this afternoon if they could check the stock, which they did and all current stock is the old model...They've arranged collection tomorrow.
I've now ordered one from Dennis at Triton Uk, should be here on Friday with a bit of luck :D

Toolstations stock is suspiciously cheap isn't it?

Anyway, I thought I'd take a punt on one of these last week, and was very happy to see when it arrived that it had all the expected accessories, including the above table handle. It was in a box labelled TRA001, and 2000 watts (allegedly the UK model power rating).

Anyway, on unpacking I found it had been damaged and arranged for Toolstation to take it back.

When the replacement machine arrived a couple of days later, it too had all the accessories, including the handle, but was marked as TRB001, and 2400 watts! The button to engage free plunge was also different, so it was clearly a later (or older??) model compared to the first one I received.

Toolstation must have some very mixed up stock!
