Trend PRT router table

I've recently purchased a Trend T11 and PRT router table. I'm wondering whether I've got the set up right for the hinged guard. The reason for this is that it seems like the fence has to be spread quite wide to allow the guard to come down. Is that right? Just petrified about losing my fingers!! Thanks, E

Probably not Edmund. The guard should hinge down fine with the fences closed right up. I'm not at home until Wed so I'm afraid I can't post a pic.

Let me know if you still haven't got it worked out by then.

I'm struggling to remember how it looks from memory. Seem to think there's a bolt that goes through the clear guard then through the vertical feather board and into a black placcy piece that slips into (and then expands inside) the rectangular section ally piece that swings up and down .... but that's probably not too helpful! :roll:
