Does anyone here have first hand experience of finishes on a solid oak toilet seat?
I'm sure that a decent lacquer is probably the safest way forward but a penetrating oil finish would be more pleasant on the fundament. I'm not sur, though, how well danish oil or Top Oil would stand up to the obvious splashes of day to day use.
Any good/bad experiences (of finishes, not toilet seat usage!) welcome and advice if you have the 'dream' solution.
