Get a little on lighting for first 30 seconds until flame works round after that nothing burns clean and economically obviously needs adequate ventilation kicks out about 3200 btu had workshop up to 22 degrees when 1 degree outside

It looks really good.
Can you still get wicks for all these old burners?

I know they are very economical to run, I believe its about 4hrs heat per 1Ltr of fuel (full flame height)

Yes wicks still available wick in mine was fooked i bought wick only without carrier drilled rivets on old wick and sewed new one onto carrier mine was new old stock I bought 2 no idea how long they last I bought 2

Nice, but be aware that if using paraffin then for every litre you burn it outputs 1 litre of water into the air so they can create damp issues.

Whilst in the Army I used to take the top off and put stainless steel wire across 2 diameters and cook toast on it, Excellent!!1
Stainless Steel, that's posh. I used bent wire coat hangers to make toasting racks on all sorts of things.

Really good job, tempted to find similar myself. Where do you get paraffin these days? Used to be every corner shop but I don't remember seeing it for a very long time.

Used to have one of those in our first (rented) flat. The landlord didnt like it one bit! Kept us warm though and cheaper than the rate he charged for electricity. (Until I found out the seal on his meter was loose and could be undone and the same 50P could be put through several times ;))

Ah the good old days :ROFLMAO:
