I have about 20 boards of "reclaimed" floor boars

they are approx 8' x 10" x 1"

I am unsure of what the timber is, but

I believe some are pitch pine and some are chestnut.....No guarantees

what price could i expect for them
postage would not really be an option

the ones i believe are chestnut look like the picture......only hand planed ....not sanded yet...as u can see there are black nail holes

Steve, I've felled (and either turned or planked) a couple of chestnut trees from my garden over the last 6 years and the picture of the door you published does indeed really look like sweet chestnut. I would investigate prices for that as I've no idea of commercial prices given mine.......well.......grew on trees so to speak :)

I'll see if I can dig out a picture of some in a mo

Here are two examples of sweet chestnut. The stool leg is darker with more grain pattern whereas the kitchen roll holder is much whiter. Both are from the same tree which has been down for circa 4 years. It shows that chestnut can vary but also that it is mostly quite a whitish wood which darkens somewhat with time.

On a side note, I find it very pleasant to work. Also ignore the base of the kitchen roll holder...it's a burr oak. The chestnut in both cases is unfinished by the way ie no polish, oil etc.
