I wondered whether anyone could suggest any good, mainly hardwood timber merchants within a reasonable distance of Cambridge. So far I have been using SL Hardwoods of Croydon. No complaints to date but it would be nice to select my own timber and possibly save on delivery charges!

ps. If it helps I mainly use american white oak.

Thanks for the link Chris, very interesting. I shall be having a look at the North Heigham Sawmills very shortly.

Hi Alan

Why not try Atkins and Cripps ?

If you spend, I think, 250 pounds it is carriage free. But you are not too far from them.

Bishop's Stortford Head Office: Telephone: 01279 652121

Well worth a try.

Cheers
Neil
