Hey...Chas...the bolt arrived this morning...incredible speed!

Sorry had to hack it up mate but it was an absolutely perfect length...

I silver soldered it to the cap in a recess and it is rock solid...

Now the plane looks exactly the way it should do...perfect!

I am extremely indebted to you kind sir! It really feels the part now..and my temporary knob was uncomfortable to hold...this is a dream
