Sometimes it's the simple things that please us the most...

for me misplacing my chuck key was a big frustration however today I had the brain wave of drilling a hole in my drill press fence... hopefully it will never be misplaced again.

What simple things have pleased you the most wood related or not.

I used to have the same trouble,so I put the magnet from an old hard drive on the column of my pillar drill. Now the chuck key is right before my eyes, simples!

when the drill is not in use the chuck key goes in the chuck and the chuck is tightened onto it by hand. (old engineering workshop trick)
when it is in use the key sits by the drill. seems simple to me.

That's where mine used to get placed but then with things getting moved around it would soon get knocked and go missing.

Thta's what i do :)

I have a hole drilled near the edge of a 2p coin. It's tied onto my morticer and used for setting the chisel-auger clearance.
It's just right, the only problem being that now, thanks to the hole, the coin is going rusty :-(

Oh, and my son's (redundant) X-box gaming headset fits our cordless phones and seems to work perfectly :)
