2 things
1. whats the drying time on that? I'm guessing not 2" per year.
2. the saw used suggests they brought in deep6 who did the same at lois lake in Canada. guess it's pretty easy to do it in nice warm water by comparison. lol

Hi
Two things reminded me of my past when reading this I jumped ship in Panama when heading to New Zealand ------and I was a tree faller and forestry contractor saw miller for about 30 or more years. U.K. only. When I shut the Mill down some of the gravity rollers went to Timbmet.
I used to deal with a lot of elm. and my big bandsaw could saw up to 7 foot dia. 6 CYL.Ford diesel and it traveled on rails. I sold it to a timber merchant near Amptill Beds. The saw I started with I still have, a bow saw--- to make it cut firewood faster I clamped a mole wrench on the end of it. Oh! happy days. Now I am thinking of getting a bandsaw as was shown by the man on Utube cutting very tight curves using his guides I believe made by Carter.
Richard,

I heard about it during a visit from Timbmet who are stocking some boards. I understand it is a few hundred pounds per board.
