The best flight simulator was the Virgin Airlines real-McCoy CAA-approved used-for-training-professional pilots proper flight training simulator down at Crawley and when you could trade in Virgin airmiles to have an hour session. Bloody brilliant. I landed to all intents and purposes a fully laden 747 at Kai Tak, JFK, CDG, LHR and LGW...and without crashing. Then 9/11 put the mockers on it.
