Hi all,

I currently don't have a table saw and I am looking at add one to the workshop.
I am a luthier so I will be using this for slotting fingerboards, I need guide slots on both sides.

I was looking at the Axminster AW10BSB2, SIP01332 (which seems to be the same design) and the Scheppach Precisa 3.0.
Is there anything else I should be looking at?

Budget is good, but I don't have loads of space.
I don't work with anything much larger than 24"x32" but I'd like good build quality.
Cheers.

Would a router not be a better option potentially?

I'm a beginner to woodworking, so please take this with a pinch of salt, it was just the first thing I thought of.

Definitely not- because these exist: http://www.stewmac.com/Luthier_Tools/Ty ... Blade.html

Either a table saw or a mitre saw is the way to do it.
With these and a decent fence you can slot a whole board in about 3 minutes.
The last couple of times I've used a laser cutter, but I don't really have the space for that right now.
