Morning all,

Quick question regarding how oak / oak veneer tables are constructed.

A friend wants me to try and refurbish the above table as some of the veneer is peeling away. My thoughts were to take it to the tip but they want me to try anyway.

My intention was to cut it out and replace it. But I’m unsure how deep, what appears to be veneer on MDF, of the centre sections goes down into the table. Would it be all the way through?

Hope that makes sense.

Any ideas on repairing much appreciated.

Tom

I'd prise that all apart. You'll soon see how it goes together, and the method of repairing it will reveal itself too.

Make sure your friend knows how much its going to cost him for your time and effort. theres a hell of a lot work and materials there, and when its finished it wont be worth whats been put into it.
