Sutherland Hinges?

I have a client who's asked me to change the door frame on her ancient garage so that the ledged and braced doors fold fully back and she can get her car in and out. Simple job, not much hassle.

But, her "architect" has advised her to use "Sutherland Hinges", I have googled I have looked in my books and can find no reference to this type, has she got it wrong or is there something google dose not know???

Good idea.

No, she was quite specific and I didn't want to look ignorant.

parliament hinges would kind of work, but not so good on ledged and braced doors.

Might this architect mean straps/hooks and bands?
It's the usual hinge for garage doors and garden gates.
If you locate the hooks properly, the doors will fold right back., leaving the entrance clear.

You might need a pair of these too. Keeps the door open, in strong wind!
