I'm following Ray Girling's excellent 'How To' webpage. I've got as far as removing the circlip from the pillar but the top won;t wind-up off of the pillars...seems to be stuck.

But that's not my main problem which is how to split the orange plastic top part from the rest so i can get at the fine adjuster gears. I've removed the four screws but the top seems 'welded' to the base.

TIA

I had similar issues when I stripped my triton , I removed said screws and then tapped

around the body with a soft faced hammer . I think the bit that binds is actually the armature

top bearing . I hope this helps

Cheers Paul.
