startrite tilt arbour saw not switching on!!

hello, my single phase startrite tilt arbour saw is not switching on - first time in 20 years!

I have looked inside the starter switch and there is power to it, so something is wrong on the machine side

any ideas of what could be the problem - looks like quite a mission to take out the motor, so hope it's something else.....

You say there is power into the starter switch, but is there power out to the motor...?? Have you checked to see if there is power at the terminal connections on the motor itself? It may just be the switch that has failed.
