Startrite SD300 p/t judder

Hi all

I have a Startrite Sd300 planer/thicknesser, 3-4 years old, and finding that when thicknessing there's sometimes this rythmic judder/clanking as the stock goes through...it otherwise performs ok. I've heard it described as a bit of a 'design fault', and wondered if any other owners have experienced this?

Check the chain tension. It might be jumping teeth.

Ah, thank you, it sounds like that - the manual talks about how to re-tension the belts, but not the chain, might have to give startrite/record a call

Did you manage to solve the judder problem? I have just picked up the same machine and am experiencing the same issue.
