I was sorting out my bookmarks tonight...(about time Jim!)...and I chanced upon this wonderful site...

HOBBIT HOUSE WOOD IDENTIFICATION

I had lost this valuable site some time ago so I was chuffed to find it again.

This is a wonderful resource for identifying almost every wood used by us woodies! It also has some other interesting information...I have yet to go through it all...
