Wondering can anyone recommend a good general purpose saw blade for a sedgwick ta315 table saw. It will be used for both rip and cross cutting softwoods and hardwoods and sheet material.
any suggestions?

Hi, I did a search on the forum, and it was hard to find the trees for the wood - pun intended.

As far as I know, ripping vs crosscutting need different blades, and sheet goods yet another.

I am after 3 blades for the above tasks, 250mm 30mm bore.

my sheet goods will be chipboard with laminate, and chipboard with wood veneer.

I have looked at: http://www.toolstoday.com/t-sawbladeterminology.aspx for understanding some terminology

and some blades:

http://www.axminster.co.uk/axcaliber-co ... -saw-blade 80 tooth neg rake for cross cutting & sheet goods?
http://www.wealdentool.com/acatalog/Onl ... e_291.html 80 took 10 deg rake for cross cutting & sheet goods?
http://www.cutting-solutions.co.uk/wood ... _saws.html although not sure what "TF pos" means

Can I bump this post to see if anyone has recommendations for saw blades? Tuff saws gets a load of thumbs up for bandsaws, who's the equivalent person in the table saw universe?

You can't beat Freud IMO for the money. :)

+1 for Freud. I've used Freud blades for a few years now and have always been happy with them. I haven't tried any of the other decent aftermarket blades, though.

FFX usually have some good deals for these blades.

Cheers

Just from random reading I thought it was Doug at cutting solutions, a friend got a blade a while back after trying a few others, I only mentioned it to him to try and stop him moaning about saw blades but he did call them and had a chat, got a new blade and was very happy with it, not bad going as he is a proper miserable git and perhaps the only time I have seen him content with life. For that staggering achievement I know who my blade supplier will be when I need a blade.
