I need some advice on choosing a balde for my 10" table saw. I was going to buy the thin kerk CMT blade from axminster which is a 42 tooth blade. would i be ok to use this for ripping and crosscutting?

The thing you have to be aware of with a thin kerf blade is the thickness of the riving knife. The riving knife must not be thicker than the blade kerf. Of course you can make a new thinner riving knife, but I think thin kerf blades are a little unnecessary for a table saw and I would go for a standard blade.

I can highly recommend CMT though. A 42 tooth blade will do OK at both ripping and crosscutting, although you might have to slow down on the ripping. I have an extra 60 tooth blade specifically for when a super clean crosscut is needed.

Hi Michael,
42t blades are OK for once in a while rips, but if it's going to be a regular thing a 24T is a much better option.
