Router lettering

Has anyone had success or otherwise with lettering templates used with a router?

I have used them successfully. They work fine if you can clamp the template on the work ok, i used double sided tape and/or clamps depending on the clearance. You do need the right router base plate guide bush.

I would say that the fonts are a bit bland, fine for run of the mill signs, but they lack any flair or character in my view. Better to carve freehand maybe.

I was eyeing up the two offerings by rutlands both on offer at the moment
I do not have the hand skills to carve

I have this very easy to use you get a good selection of fonts with it but you can download any type you want I use a laminator to protect them and works just fine.
