So I'm staining a plywood desktop black and wss wanting to colour some filler red since my pc is a red and black theme. Is there an easy way to do it or something else bright red I could use with a hard wearing finish?
Thanks in advance :)

I don't know that there are any red wood fillers out there Matt, at least not the kind of red you're looking for. But most types of filler can be tinted or coloured easily enough. I think the important question is what type of filler were you thinking of using?

If you haven't chosen a filler yet then I think you should look into colouring some epoxy. These days it's common to make epoxy fills a solid colour (often jet black) and if you can get it that dark a bright red should be no problem using the right additive, either a dry powder or a little oil paint.

@Andrewf, red lead? Not easily available any more I don't think! And there might be something just a smidge less toxic that'll work :)

How about one of the polyfilla type fillers with kids powder paint or poster paint added. Fairly cheap.

ED65.
Red lead powder easily available.

Thanks for the replies! To be honest I didn't know what I was going to use since I didn't know what I could turn red. I like the sound of a colored epoxy though! Thanks a lot :D
