Hi all

I am planning out my kitchen and need some advice. I want to fit an undermount stainless steel sink into a 45mm thick wide stave worktop but am concerned that space for the flange and fixing clips will result in the bowl being too far from the edge of the worktop for those in the family who are of smaller stature.

I thought of cutting a rebate around the underside of the cutout in the worktop (say 15mm deep) to accommodate the flange and allow me to have the cutout nearer the front edge with the added benefit of the sink bottom being a little higher.

Anyone out there tried this or have any words of wisdom on the subject.

Many thanks

Tom

Hi Tom

I did this with my sink, I wanted to reuse an existing top mounted sink, so I had to cut a rebate to accommodate the flange round the bowl.
I made up some wooden blocks to clamp the sink in position, it doesn't need much force to hold it in place until the silicon goes off.

Pete
