Preparation for painting over a previously painted kitchen

Hi Margaret,

Welcome to the forum.

I cannot advise on what to use to repaint, with but as a starting point in the preparation you need to thoroughly degrease everything, I would use sugar soap to wash down with.

I second that. Needs a good clean to get all the grease off - before - you do any sanding. It may not look or feel greasy but it will be enough to cause problems. I made a big mistake once painting a skirting board - I think the previous owner had used furniture polish on it and the paint didn't stick.
