hi, this is my first post on the forum,i need some advice, there must be someone out there that can steer me in the right direction i hope.my problem is that the variable speed control on my lathe has stopped working, the cable that enters the unit has split showing the wires.they look like telephone wires i have taken the front cover of and all conections are soldered, that is the problem,in order to shorten cable all these conections will have to be re soldered something i cannot do,does anyone out there know of anyone in the uxbridge area that could do this for me.for payment of course.thanks from a frustrated turner

Hello frustrated turner

Welcome to the forum

I would look in your local yellow pages or Thomson directory for a electrical repairers

Give them a call tell them you need X numbers of wires un soldering , a cable with X numbers of wires shortening and then it needs to be re soldered

cant see it would cost to much , basic job for a repairer
