Hi Ive been lurking here for quite a while and finally thought of a serious question  Ive seen somewhere a cutter to produce pocket hole plugs But cant seem to find it anywhere not on Trends site nor anywhere else can anyone point me in the right direction? thanks in advance

Paul.

I have seen the plugs for sale but never the cutter.

Hi Paul,

Welcome to the forum. :D

I have some plug cutters that I use to make cross grain plugs, for normal counter bored screws. For pocket hole plugs you need a wedge shaped dowel, I agree with Gary, I have seen the plugs but never a cutter, no doubt someone will be along with a link to prove us wrong. :-k

Hi Rod,

That is the sort of thing I have but not Disston, mine are Screwfix.
What Paul is looking for is something to make these:

Well the wooden one at least.

I think that if you have the correct size dowel you could make a custom mitre box to saw it off at the correct angle. :-k

no Harbo thats not it Im afraid the one Im thinking of is longer you use it to make cuts from end grain thus giving a nearly invisible plug when sawn off & sanded

OOps sorry - blinkered by the Subject Line "Plug Cutter"
Will read more carefully next time?

Rod
