I'm wondering if anyone uses one of these? And any recommendations? I generally use stock 40-50mm thick 10-12" wide. And often full slabs.
I got caught out last year with some walnut not seasoned properly and had real problems with my piece. I almost binned it.
I have 3 elm slabs for a piece coming up. 2 of these (book matched)I bought a year ago and kept indoors for most of that time. A 3rd I bought a couple of weeks ago from the same mill and from the same tree. (not matched). I want to check the moisture content before I start this in about a month.
I don't mind spending £100 or so on one. I'll use it when timber shopping too.
