I v'e broken the platform table that slides up and down on the shaft of my pillar drill the piece that enables you to adjust the table up and down . Does anyone know how i can make something that would be suitable and act as a table that i can slacken and tighten to enable it to slide the table up and down the shaft

If you have to make a new clamp, you might consider making a new table as well. The table could be designed to be more useful for the sort of work you do. Perhaps you could use a wider or deeper table. T-tracks could be let into it to provide for clamping the work and mounting a fence. You could add a sacrificial insert in the center
