They are what I started with, lack finesse in form and finish of steel and handles, but the steel is OK.
Several are still in use having been re-ground to make the now and then needed odd shaped tools.
Not the easiest set for a newbie to start off with but they work and give a datum to base further tool selection on having experienced the limitations.
So if silly price, there's some keepers (roughing gouge, oval skew and parting tool) and some steel that can be re-ground into such as box scrapers and pointy spindle carvers or boring bars.
If cash is limited, a decent brand 3/8" bowl gouge, thin 1/2" parting tool, 1/2" half round scraper and a 1/2" skew can do a lot of turning. (85 % of my box turning.)
