Hi all. Life kept me away from woodwork for a while - but I'm now back, and in good timing have been lucky enough to be given this "Parkinsons Perfect Vice 15" which come more clement weather will become part of a "proper" bench (lack of space means I'll be building that outside).
Seems in very good knick for it's age, works smoothly and the quick release is a charm. I think others here had one and the thought was it dates from 30-60's at the most recent? I'd imagine the red paint is original as I can't see anything else underneath and it's in every hidden spot too.
After cleaning out some sawdust, I can't see it needs any real work - the rust is superficial really. Any advice on if/how/where I should oil/grease it? Does anyone bother re-painting their old vices?
Thanks all.
