We have a black iron stain ring has appeared on out beech kitchen counter top from a can of fly spray that was lying on the damp surface. I was going to try to get it out with oxalic acid. Questions:

1. Is this what I should be using?

2. If it bleaches out the stain, will it bleach the colour out of the wood so that I have to stain it to blend it back in?

3. Roughly how long does it need to be on for? Days, hours, minutes or sudden-death-it's-brilliant-white-in-seconds?? (stuff I have is marketed as a DIY shed wood bleach)

Thanks in advance

Scott (who's never used it before and wouldn't like to incur the wrath of SWMBO for messing up the counter :? :D )
