I know not the most exciting wood but, A knock on the door and a friend says just finished a job and have a couple of off cuts.
Well after a few trips to his van I came away with this little pile.
All Sapele and there are 24 pieces 5 1/2" X 1 3/4" ranging from 9" up to 24" long and 4 pieces 7 1/2" X 1 3/4" from 12 1/2" to 20"
Now the question is what to make with them well that is for another day

As you have asked in the turning section, how about a "thrown chair"?

I'm assuming your mate can get you a few more bits.

How about some change catchers. Always a favourite. This one is from a scrap board I was given by a colleague at work.

The boards look as if they are all planed so they can be laminated to make thicker pieces, perhaps with other woods to give a contrast? As far as what to make with them as is, there are loads of things if they are all 1 3/4" thick. bangles, brooches, hair sticks, pens, spindles, platters, small bowls, dibbers..................

Yes they are all 1 3/4" thick
Even I don't make that many pens     Maybe even a spinning wheel which would be great practice at copy turning.

I have thought about some laminated pieces even thought about segmented
I think as you have said using some contrasting wood will help it along nicely, I just could not help myself and said yes please not realising that there was so much.

I think I am becoming a wood hoarder can anyone tell me if there is a cure.

getting a woodburner or two helps..but there will be constant rescuing of wood designated for the woodburner and redistribution of "ahem" failed works.
