I've just fitted a new (new to me) fence onto my old Startrite bandsaw. Sourced from Dave here at UKW, couldn't be more pleased.
Happy as a pig in poop hence the share

Very nice!

Shame it couldnt be colour matched.

It looks to me like your bandsaw is that ubiquitous resada green RAL 6011

Sure is Robin, 6011 was ever popular on them older startrite's. The bandsaw still works like a charm though, and all the better for having a fence that was made 30 years later. Smooth as silk.

Hi Nick, it's the blue fence and the black piece of aluminium at the front that bolts to the bandsaw table. It's Kreg, a really nice piece of kit to use.

how much , dose it have predrilled holes for fixing
Do a google search for Kreg Precision Babdsaw Fence, they're roughly £100 new and come with pre drilled holes for several varieties of Bandsaw.

Nice.

These are very good, I have one also. Only gripe is the micro adjuster is a bit crap, as the fence moves when it's tightened down. Unless I'm doing something wrong, but other people have said the same. Have you found a way around it for precision work?

Kreg do a couple of attachments, a resaw guide and some useful stops, both of which fit the rail and make any niggles bearable. It is a solid fence and I've used it to resaw 5ft long 10" deep walnut.

PS. If anyone looking at this has a larger bandsaw....there might be a possibility to obtain a longer fence extrusion, IIRC 24". I don't think Kreg make them anymore but myself and a guy I know managed to get one each from old stock at a place in Scotland. Failing that, they do a 36" extrusion (I think it was) which you could cut down but it's a bit more expensive.

Hi Martin,

I have the Kreg router table too so am aware of the micro-adjuster issue. The good news is it's easy to sort out. What I've found is that it's possible to offset the micro-adjuster when you align the fence with the table. When you use the nylon screws to set-up the fence this actually moves the small piece of extruded aluminium on the fence mounting rail too. In doing so it can move the threaded hole (that the micro-adjuster threads into) out of alignment.

So, the best way to check is to back off the micro-adjuster so that it's completely unscrewed, then tighten down the black knob on the adjuster. The screw should now still be perfectly in line with the threaded hole. See photo below:

If not it will not work smoothly. When they are lined up, the adjuster can be screwed down and the micro-adjust on the fence works really smooth and well.

Hope this made sense, apologies if it was a tad long winded.
