Myford Ml8 belt positioning

Hello, I have recently purchased a Myford ML8 in order to take up woodturning as a hobby, I'm doing as much research as I can and watching videos etc to learn techniques. I'm making safety a priority of course so was wondering if anyone could help me. From reading about it I believe the ML8 can turn at up to about 2800 rpm however I cannot find any info or documentation showing what belt positions on the pulleys translate into what rpm, is anyone able to help? Even any rough guidance would be appreciated as I don't want to end up in A&E! Many thanks.

Four speeds are: 700, 1140, 1780 and 2850 rpm. Smallest pulley on headstock is 2850RPM, and largest pulley on headstock is 700RPM.
