my first go at making a hollow form
Photo-0031.jpg

sycamore felled near me that has been left on the ground for two years producing this lovely orange stain.
the foot or the base on this piece is far to big so i have left it in the shadow

Very impressive :D - particularly like the rings round the middle, they really bring the shape together.

What hollowing kit did you use? Any views / feedback on pros / cons?

By they way - nice work esp for a first!

Simon.

first i drilled the centre out and finished the inside with a length of mild steel round bar .
heating the steal bar and bending it more as i needed.
where the multi scraper couldnt reach it is rough inside.
just an idea that has inspired me to buy the proper tools for the job.
i think i will have to put some overtime in at work because these tools are not cheap and this is still a hobby.
things can only get better.
cheers.
