Hi, I'm a new member looking for some advice. I've recently bought an Axminster YC2308 Morticer and wondering if anyone can recommend some good but reasonably priced chisels to use with it. I've nothing planned at the moment just want to get up and running with it so I know what it and I are capable of together

The Draper Expert ones that I've had worked fine but they're quite a price these days. You may have to trim the shanks of the bits to length to suit your machine. And sooner or later you may need some sort of sharpening cone for the chisel, though it's possible to improvise. Trad style British chisels have a different angle to the Japanese style ones. A fine file does the bits.

Ebay can be a good source for used chisels, you just have to make sure the chisel collar fits your machine and that the bit shank hasn't been trimmed off too short ...
