Happy New year guys! Just treated myself to a new festool mft table Anyone treat there top? If so what with meg primer? Thanks

I'm on to my third replacement MFT top. With the first one I had a sudden rush of enthusiasm and general MFT love (sounds like where you are!) and decided to use a coat of MDF size on both sides. It warped very slightly, just a mill or two, but it was no longer flat. On the subsequent tops I didn't bother with any finish and they've both stayed dead flat.

Maybe co-incidence, but now any future MFT tops will stay as nature intended, and if they end up a bit grubby or with a few coffee mug rings then so be it!

how much are he replacement tops? I've just been online and they are between 65 and 135 quid?

what size are they and what are they made out of?

The size varies depending on the model. There are several different models. They're made of MDF.

In answer to the original question. I used a couple of thinly applied coats of Osmo Hard Wax Oil (Satin).
