I'm sure somebody on here knows how to do those magnetic catches on kitchen doors that hold the door but dont grip by a counterpiece.

I believe a strong magnet is fitted on the edge of the door so holding the door in by sideway attraction rather than physically touching on a counterpiece.

The disadvantage of holding on a counterpiece is that it takes a tug to get the door open

Ive seen some Mark Wilkinson doors that dont even have an obvious magnet -it seems to be hidden.

I drill 10mm diameter magnets into the face frame edge and top of door, I off set them by a couple of mm so the door in effect is trying to go further in, then use a nice timber stop with a felt pad on it.
