Just wondering if anyone has seen this yet? Looks good but $27 for the download isn't cheap.

Warning might contain protentious and superfluous twaddle

Facilitating the Discussion

A quick note: Because the number one goal of having this blog here is to facilitate conversation and sharing ideas, we’ve changed over the clunky built-in commenting system to a new platform. It’s called “Disqus”. Now, you will be able to comment at the bottom of each post using your Google, Facebook, Disqus or Twitter accounts. But you don’t even need to login if you don’t want to. You can comment without any account. The point of this switch is to make commenting easier, more helpful and more enjoyable. It’s got one of the most essential features of a commenting system: being able to nest a reply to a specific comment. This I am very excited about because it...

It could just be me, but I don't see how this is relevant to the original question.

I'm confused now, but admittedly that doesn't take much. :?

I believe he's suggesting that their style appears to be to say not much of uncommon goodness but with a lot of words at the same time.

There's certainly plenty of puffery in their "About us" page - even the tone of the bios is offputting.

Their Instagram account has some (very) small snippets from the DVD so it may be worth casting your eye over that and seeing whether you like the style or not.

Out of interest what is it that initially attracted you to the M&T Foundations DVD?

I've got the Spoon Rack series from Richard, never bought the workbench series as I already had plans for a different type of bench. I do like his style, had planned to get the side table series soon but I hear there may be another one on its way!

The only thing that appealed about the M&T one was seeing a different take on hand tool use.

Can I fly the flag for the English woodworker

http://www.theenglishwoodworker.com/premium-videos/

M&T = $27 = £20.79 for 2 hours or Richard 3 hours plus members area ansd rants = £26

Plus quite a few videos on youtube so you can decide if you like his personality before you buy

Disclaimer: Not a relation, friend, customer , shareholder etc.. just heard good things.
I'll second that: not a hint of pretension on the part of Mr McGuire, just down to earth, straightforward and good humoured imparting of ideas and information.

I considered getting M&T because the fundamental premise seems good but the blurb seemed a touch too luvvy darling, as if you could only read it while clutching a glass of prosecco in a white tiled room, empty but for a single Eames chair and a well placed vase with a rare orchid in it. So The English Woodworker and one or two of his US counterparts it is for me.
