Hi
A local craft store, Poole in Dorset, have had a number of requests for wooden toys. Their business model is to sell shelf space rather than sell on a commission basis, so a bit like a craft fair, but you don't need to be there and it runs for months.
You can find details on FB:https://www.facebook.com/MakersInc?ref=ts&fref=ts
Thought someone here might find it useful

I know the people involved but have no commercial interest

I looked into making wooden toys for sale but most parents won't touch anything that is not CE marked. The regulations for CE approval are a nightmare to implement for small makers and the costs of getting items tested and approved are prohibitive.

Most woodworkers who make toys usually just make them for family members like grandchildren.

If there is a way round CE marking so toys can be sold to the public market then I would definitely be interested as I too get requests for toys all the time.

There was a long thread on here a little while ago about CE marking. It isn't actually as onerous as you think

Worth searching for the thread.
