I have a kity combination machine
spindle moulder
planer \ thicknesser
table saw
mortiser

does anyone use these anymore?
i have never used it , but got it with the thought of using the thicknesser
am now wondering if i have a pile of scrap and should rethink
i assume they was quite expensive when new, but has technology moved on?
this is my typical....oh that will be useful...never used
i done the same with a ras that i never even turned on

I broke mine down into individual item to try and sell it but no luck. Virtually gave them away but kept the spindle which is useful. Saw was rubbish. Tilting table/fixed vertical blade. Planer was rubbish too. The tables never came back spot on after using the thicknesser. Never used the mortiser as it did not cut square ended mortises.
I've moved on to separates and never regretted it.

I purchased mine new in the 1980's and although I accept that things have moved on I would not change mine for anything even if money was no object.

I bought one in the '80s too and with a band saw. All still in use and ideal for limited floor space.
well maybe i should put it up here and see if any interest
valuing may be an issue as cant do "make an offer"
shame we dont have an exchange \ swap section

I started my business with one, and then sold it on to someone else who did the same.

If it works and you don't want silly money for it, I would have thought it would be good for someone who is just setting up a hobby shop.

Hi Steve

There are still a hell of a lot of them in use all around the world and I still get several requests a month for the little K5 manual even though I've been sending them out for years.
Depends which model you have as to value so if you post some pics we'll be able to tell you.
I have price list from the eighties and you're right, they weren't cheap machines. I guess your biggest problem is where you live as they would be expensive to courier and you'd need a local buyer.
