Yikes - thats a new one on me. I know Kity well enough, but didn't know they made a chopsaw. I would be a little tempted to find out its provenance, just to make sure it is not a chaiwanese model with a Kity sticker masquerading as a decent saw. Yeah, that is what I would do - maybe do a search for chopsaws (listed as sliding mitre saws) with the same spec and see if you get a match. I bet there is another company selling the same saw with a different badge.
FWIW I just picked up an old elu flip saw from ebay, listed badly and in good condition, for a third of the price demanded for the kity. It has an induction motor so is quiet, and will go on forever. And will flip too, obviously.
Hope this helps, I think I may have thrown a big ol' spanner in the works, eh? Basically just saying don't limit yourself, shop round. Its a buyers market.
